Oral Surgery

Why do I need an extraction?

Extractions are often necessary when a tooth shows excessive crowding, has trauma or deep decay, and it is non-salvageable.

What is an extraction?

Simple extraction is the removal of a tooth above the gumline.

Surgical extractions are of teeth that are impacted below the gumline, often third molars (wisdom teeth), that require an incision. The incision area is usually sutured with dissolvable sutures.

Do extractions hurt?

We make the patient as comfortable as possible using local anesthetic and if necessary  conscious sedation. Please inquire within for us to best accommodate your needs.
