Root Canal Therapy

Why do I need a root canal?

Teeth have nerve tissues that comprise the inside of the tooth chamber and travel down each of the roots. When the nerve becomes damaged due to excessive stress or large cavities, inflammation and pain can occur.

What is a root canal?

Root canal therapy remove infected nerve tissue and seals the canals and chamber with a material meant to protect the tooth from further injury. Since the nerve tissue is completely removed, this weakens the tooth structure, often necessitating a crown.

If I don't proceed with the recommended root canal, what can happen?

If you don't proceed with the recommended root canal, your tooth may become more injured or infected, causing extreme pain. If the decay is too deep, your tooth may need to be extracted.
